Hooyer Wedding
I designed and created a lot of our decorations for our wedding. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed creating all of it.
Wedding Invitations
Ever since I took my first graphic design class, I could not wait until I could design my own wedding invitations. I wanted a simple design for my Save the Dates and our wedding photographer took a great photo for them. The back had our reception and website details only. I painted some floral watercolor elements for our wedding invitations and placed them in a nice way for each design.
Here is a list of all the wedding materials I designed for my wedding:
- Save the Dates
- Invitations
- Kindly Reply Cards
- Programs
- Seating Chart
- Schedule
Front Entrance
Here is the front entrance. All the vinyl is cut from my Silhouette Cameo 3.
- Guestbook Sign
- Photo Guestbook
- Multiple Frames & Sizes, all painted black
- Stained Wooden Boxes
- Fishbowl for Words of Wisdom
- Handmade Welcome Sign
- Handmade Seating Chart Board
- Flowers, Mini White Carnations, Israeli Ruscus, and Seeded Eucalyptus
- Stained Wooden Card Box
Centerpieces & Head Table
Our centerpieces were all the same for each table minus the table number. We tried to put different types of vases & candle holders by each other, so there was varying height on the table.
- Table Number: Wood piece & vinyl lettering
- Vases & Candle Holders with real flowers
- Vases and holders could be any shape and size, I did not need them to match.
- A quick tip: If you don’t need matching vases, then purchase them at thrift stores, garage sales, and wedding shows. I paid anywhere from $0.10-$2.
- Wood Square: Cut & Stained
- Table Runner: Cheese Cloth & Dyed Dusty Blue
Our head table looked similar to our centerpieces, but I added some cardboard letters. I created them from scratch. I would recommend purchasing the letters and not trying to DIY them :).
Ceremony
For our ceremony, we only designed our arch. Aaron built & stained it. Our florist arranged the flowers and placed them to what I envisioned. We also had our wedding sign there.
I also decorated the flower girl basket and created a crown for the flower girl.
